Sažetak
The possibility for micropropagation of Campanula tommasiniana C. Koch (Campanulaceae), a rare Croatian stenoendemic plant was studied. The activity of several antioxidative enzymes in cultured plants was investigated also. Shoots originated from aseptically germinated seeds collected in natural habitat were used for culture initiation. Multiplication rate of shoots was monitored during three subcultures on half strength MS media containing 2.9 M GA3 and three different concentrations of BA or without BA. The higest multiplication rate of 7.7 shoots per explant was achieved in a 4-week-culture period in the 3rd subculture on medium containing 1 μ M BA. Excised shoots (2-5 cm) were rooted on half strength MS media containing two different concentrations of IBA or IAA. Percentage of rooted shoots was very high on all media tested (90.1-100%). Formation of flowers was observed on several media, with the highest flowering rate (30%) on medium containing 4.9 IBA. Activities of ascrobat (APX) and guaiacol (GPOD) peroxidases as well as catalase (CAT) measured in plant extracts significantly increased on media containing lower concentrations of BA (0.2 and 0.5 μ M).
