Sažetak
Stimulation of the reductive pentose phosphate pathway with high dose therapy of thiamine and the thiamine monophosphate derivative Benfotiamine has recently been suggested as a potential novel strategy for the prevention of diabetic complications, possibly as the result of their reaction with methylglyoxal.
