Sažetak
Granular cell tumor is a relatively uncommon lesion that may occur in any part of the body. It is mainly found in patients in the fourth to sixth decades of life, seldom in children and newborns. The original description gave Abrikossoff in 1926. Congenital granular cell myoblastoma is found in newborns as pendunculated tumor, mostly in female infants. It can cause problems in the feeding and breathing, also a major esthetic problem is present. We present a newborn female infant with granular cell myoblastoma developed on the mandibulary gingiva. It had noted after birth as a pendunculated smooth surfaced, isolated lesion on the alveolar mucosa of the mandibula. The tumor was completely excised two hours after birth. Histologically, there was a myoma of myoblasts with characteristic granular cells. Observation for possible recurrence was performed and there were no recurrent lesion after six months.
