Sažetak
The Chronology of the privatization process in Croatia and the results achieved show that the inadequate institutional and legal framework is one of the main reasons of the growth of the grey economy. Incomplete and and imprecise laws that govern this area, the omission of the clauses sanctioning the unwanted behaviour in practice have caused a space well suited for the grey economy, where transactions can take place disregading the "rules of the game". Quantitative analyses odf the effects of the grey economy, which this paper partly provides, may be useful for privatization policy makers in Croatia for a successful continuation of the process.
