Sažetak
The objective of this research was to detect by the means of kinematic analysis the characteristic errors in executing the forward handspring at the early stage of acquisition, and accordingly, to suggest the apropriate ways of corecting these errors. Kinematic parameters were isolated according to phases of forward handspring execution performed by one 2nd year female student from the Faculty of Physical Education, University of Zagreb. The comparison with the model execution of the shool-type forward handspring, performed by one female member of the Croatian national team, was carried out. The obtained results showed that there are significant differences in many parameters of the forward handspring. Since the diagnosed technical errors significantly distorted the quality of the performance, returning on certain basic preparatory exercises, execution of different additional preparatory skills, as well as specific physical preparation, is recomended.
