Sažetak
The main differences between the discus throw performed by the subject and the throws performed by the World Championships medalists are in the angle of release, duration of the delivery phase and the change of discus velocity in transition and the delivery phase.From the analyzed data it is obvius that the subject lost too much of the discus velocity in the airborne and transition phase, so he had to gain high increase of velocity in the delivery phase. Such an increase of velocity led to the poor control of the discus in the moment of release, with a low angle of release as a consequence. The result of all this was a significantly shorter length of the throw. In the future training proces, the subject of this study, Croatian national champion, should pay more attention to the increase of the discus velocity in transition phase, as well as to the movement coordination in the high speed situation in the delivery phase.
