Sažetak
Mt. Papuk with maximum height of 913 meters a.s.l., is located in the NE part of Croatia. Central part of Papuk massif is built of middle Triassic karstified carbonate rocks, surrounded by impermeable early Triassic clastic and Paleozoic metamorphic and vulcanic rocks. Karst aquifer is drained by a number of springs, located on the contact of karstic and nonkarstic rocks. Two main springs, Velicanka spring and Strazemanka spring are captured for a water supply of town Pozega and surrounding settlements located in the valley bellow. Mt. Papuk. In the dry season water quantity of these two springs is not sufficient for a water supply, and additional water is pumped from alluvial aquifer nearby town Pozega. Because of area growing demands for water quantities and poor quality of water drained from alluvial aquifer, in the last few years hydrogeological explorations of Mt. Papuk intensified in order to get more high quality water from the karstified massif. As a part of these explorations analysis of captured spring hydrographs, drilling and test pumping of two wells and water tracing of a Uviraljka swallow hole, located in the high part of a Papuk karst massif have been performed.
