Sažetak
(NbSe4)3I is a special member of recently very intensively investigated family of transition-metal chalcogenides. It is primarily a narrow-gap semiconductor with two typs of low temperature behaviour and there had been report of a phase transition until 1983. Evidence of a structural phase transition was first reported by Izumi et. al. (1984). recent results of electron difraction, X-ray and Raman scattering experiments show that the 274 K transition is a structural phase transition of a displacive type.
