Sažetak
The lead contamination of mallard duck (Anas platyrhynchos) from the ecosystem Crna Mlaka was investigated. The contamination originates from ingested lead shot pellets. It has been established that 11, 8 % of all collected ducks had ingested lead shot pellets in their gizzards and 83% a significantly high level of lead in the liver, kidney, brain and pancreatic tissues. Without ingested lead shot pellets present in their gizzard there were 88, 2% of all collected ducks, and the percentage of those with a low concentration of lead in the analyzed tissues, regardless of the presence of lead shot in their gizzards, was only 58, 8%. This means that 41, 2% of the killed mallard duck during the hunting seasons of 1979-1982. were contaminated with lead.
