Sažetak
In our experimental work an average bauxite sample, previously treated for seven days in a new alumina plant in Yugoslavia, has been digested. The sample corresponds by its properties to the treatment according to the Bayer procedure. The experiments have been carried out in laboratory autoclaves, by gas and electrical heating of the volume up to 500 ml. Our aim has been to study the influence of various parameters on efficiency and speed of the process ; the parameters: temperature, time and mode of preparing the digestion liquor, autoclave filling calculations. The results are presented and commented in tables and figures. On the basis of the experiments, general guidelines have been developed for using laboratory digestion experiments in plant conditions, and there may be as well as possibility for controlling the industrial practice.
