Sažetak
A necessity of the optimal distribution of the total transmission ratio on the first and second gear pair often occurs during the design stage of double-reduction gear trains. The paper presents some simplified formulae for the calculation of the optimal first stage transmission ratio for the following types of double-reduction gera trains: cylindrical gears only (non planetary and planetary), bevel + cylindrical gears, cylindrical + worm gears. Special attention has been paid to the two stage planetary gear trains. The proposed formulae are original ones based on the relevant criteria, or adopted ones presented in more simple and accurate forms.
