Sažetak
Weather and environmental conditions monitoring is a component of transport information and control system defined by taxonomy of ITS applications. In this paper a description of road weather management system will be presented together with description of procedures for relevant weather- related data acquisition and their processing. Thus, collected and processed data can be disseminated on three levels regarding number of users supplied: low level by dynamic message sings, medium level as pre-trip or en-route information by Internet, phone or similar way of dissemination and high level (e, g. over radio broadcasting, TV, etc.). Also weather information plays an important roll in traffic control and road maintenance subsystems of ITS.
