Sažetak
The problem of drought period identification is considered from a hydrological viewpoint. The resealed adjusted partial sums (RAPS) method is used for analysing the next four time series: 1) Monthly precipitation values in Osijek (Jan 1882 - Dec 1993 ; N=1344 months) ; 2) Mean monthly air temperature values in Osijek (Jan. 1882 - Dec. 1990 ; N=1308 months) ; 3) Mean yearly air temperature values in Osijek (1882 - 1990 ; N=109 years) ; 4) Monthly De Mar-ton index values in Osijek (Jan 1882 - Dec 1990 ; N=1308 months). The De Marton index is a more physically based and more complex parameter for identifying drought than precipitation Consequently it is more convenient for drought periods identification. Both parameters give similar but not identical results. This analysis is the first preliminary step in drought analysis
