Sažetak
It is almost imossible to imagine the world without polyphase alternating currents and rotating magnetic field discovered by the great visionary, scientist and engineer Nikola Tesla. Tesla'a approach to making new discoveries was at the same time both scientific and economic: noticing a problem, birth of the idea and the solution, experimental verification, protestion by a patent, presentation of the invention to the most competent, and the promotion of new possibilities to the benefit of all. Synchronous and induction machines in wich electromachanical energy conversion is performed by rotating magnetic fields have today an enormous economic imporatnce, and yet they are only a small part of his creative achievements. Application of new numerical methodes, new materials with specific properties, high-temperature are new challenges for the future development of rotataing machines based on Tesala's inventions.
