Sažetak
Like other European cities, the City of Zagreb has serious problems in urban traffic caused by the increase in the number of individual vehicles resulting in congestion and delays (lower throughput capacity) in the network, and therefore also longer travel times. Gradual implementation of road telematic technologies is contributing to a smoother flow and improved safety of urban traffic. A questionnaire-based survey of the condition and possibilities of development of the mentioned technologies represents an important segment in the phase that precedes their implementation in the Zagreb traffic system. Advanced telematic technologies, advantages and obstacles in their implementation, and the problems in the existing traffic system of the City of Zagreb are part of the main issues of the research carried out in order to make a proposal regarding improvement of the urban traffic system. The results of the research should serve as (scientific) base for improved implementation and operationalization of the telematic technologies and services in the City of Zagreb.
