Sažetak
In this paper the authors will present the System Dynamics Modelling Methodology as a relatively new scientific, educational and research source of possibilities, with its practical application in a marine education process. Following a number of computer-laboratory experiments the system dynamics simulation models were carried out from 1991 to 1997, as undergraduate theses at maritime Faculty of the University of Split, Croatia. The aim of this paper is to show the new efficiency of the System Dynamics Simulation Modelling of the dynamics behaviour, as an example of the Marine Synchronous Generator, as one of the most complex and non-linear marine technical systems. The synchronous generator will be presented as quantitative (mathematical) and qualitative (mental-verbal and structural) system dynamics model with special automation aspect provided by UNIREG-PID-regulator (Electronics Universal PID Regulator). It will be used for the synchronous electrical generator voltage regulation. These system Dynamics Simulation Models of the synchronous generator are very suitable education software-simulators, especially for marine students and marine system engineers because it provides them with a new and different special and effective point of view of the non linear dynamics marine-processes phenomena behaviour.
