Sažetak
Efficiency of cerium salts, namely CeCl3, Ce(NO3)3 i Ce2(SO4)3, as possible alternatives to chromates for the inhibition of corrosion on the Al-alloy used in food processing industry has been examined. Total immersion tests and electrochemical examinations have been used to determine inhibitor efficiencies and possible inhibition mechanisms. It has been found that CeCl3 might be an efficient substitute for toxic chromates. However, the problems of adhesion to that substrate call for future examinations aimed at adaptation of the method of application of conversion and polymeric protective coatings.
