Sažetak
Our interest in the photochemistry of 9-trifluoromethylanthracene ll led us to prepare and study the photochemical behaviour of the trifluoromethyil substituted dibenzobarrelene 2. This compound was obtained by the Diels-Alder cycloaddition of dimethylacetylene dicarboxylate (DMAD) to l. In solution 2 underwent the di -Π - methane photosenzitized rearrangement to afford the racemic mixture of the corresponding dibenzosembullvalene 3 whose structure was determined by their lH and l3C NMR spectra, and confirmed by X-ray crystallography. An unquivocal proof of chirality of 3 was obtained by separation of the enantiomers using high-performance liquid chromatography on tribenzoylcellulose.
