Sažetak
Among many viral diseases, the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) has evolved despite intensive research on prevention and treatment into a major epidemic in the last decade. Due to intensive efforts by chemists and molecular pharmacologists a number of nucleoside analoques have been discovered to posses potent antiviral activities against HIV the causative agent for AIDS. This investigation is concerned with the syntesis of the novel nucleoside analoques containing exocyclic pyrrolo moiety and acyclic side chains attached to the purine ring. Conformation of the N 9 substituted regioisomers containing 2’ -acetoxypropyl and 2’ -propenyl chains was unambiguously proved by their X-ray structure analysis. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the novel compounds on various viruses causing opportunistic diseases including HIV, herpes and human hepatitis B virus.
