Sažetak
ISO 9950 STANDARD DESCRIBING COOLING CURVE ANALYSIS OF QUENCH OILS WITHOUT AGITATION HAS BEEN ISSUED. THE NEXT STEP OF THIS ONGOING WORK IS TO DEVELOP STANDARDS FOR COOLING CURVE ANALYSIS OF VAPORIZABLE QUENCHANTS (WATER, OIL, AQUEOUS POLYMERS) WITH AGITATION. THE CURRENT PLAN IS TO JOINTLY DEVELOP THIS STANDARD WITH THE IFHT AND ASM QUENCHING AND COOLONG COMMITTEES. THERE WILL BE TWO COMPONENTS IN THE STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT PLAN. ONE WILL EXPAND ON ISO 9950 TO PROVIDE FOR COOLING CURVE ANALYSIS USING THE "WOLFSON PROBE", 12.5x60 mm INCONEL 600 WITH A TYPE k THERMOCOUPLE INSERTED INTO THE GEOMETRIC CENTER, WITH STANDARDIZED AGITATION DEVICES. THE SECOND METHOD TO BE DEVELOPED WILL MEASURE THE SURFACE REWETTING PROPERTIES OF A QUENCHANT BY MEASURING THE VARIATION OF CONDUCTANCE OF A "STANDARD" STAINLESS STEEL PROBE. THI SPAPER WILL PROVIDE AN OVERVIEW OF CURRENRTLY EXISTING NATIONAL STANDRADS AND DESCRIBE THE SPECIFIC STANDARDS DEVELOPEMENT STRATEGIES FOR IFHT AND ASM FOR COOLONG CURVE ANALYSIS WIT AGITATION.POLYMER QUENCHANTS ARE BEING USED INCREASINGLY IN THE HEAT TREATING INDUSTRY. ONE REASON FOR THIS ICREASE IS THE CONTINUAL ENGINEERING ADVANCEMENTS THAT FACILIATE THEIR REPLACEMENT OF QUENCH OILS AND ALSO WATER. IN THIS PAPER, THER TECHNOLOGIES UTILIZING POLYMER QUENCHANTS WILL BE REVIEWED. THESE INCLUDE: INVERSE HARDENING, INTENSIVE QUENCHING AND IMMERSION TIME QUENCHING TECNOLOGY (ITQT), A COMPUTER AUTOMATED TIME QUENCHING TECHNOLOGY.
