Sažetak
The aim of each reproduction in printing production is to obtain the print true to original. If the reproduction were objective, integral inking densities on print would be equal to optical density of the original. However such reproduction which would have the values and the range of values equal to original is often impossible to get. Because of that there is the tendency to obtain optimal reproduction which would give satisfying results. Except the production of print, which has to be very true to original, the stress is set to the speed and the price of the product of the determined product on the market today. The offset printing is the momentarily only printing technique which enables, with its possibilities, achieving such a product which contains all the mentioned parameters: quality, production speed and the price of the product. Because of that the offset printing is on the leading place in the printing production. In order to increase the printing quality of the screen reproduction and its optimization, it is necessary to study the critical points and basic parameters within each printing system that influences the quality of the printed product. This work is therefore based on investigation and measurements of some basic parameters in the offset printing. Prints used in this work were printed with the classical offset printing inks on four types of printing substrates: glossy fine art paper, matt fine art paper, coated and uncoated offset paper. Measurements were performed spectrophotometrically, and integral inking densities and dot gain were calculated. Visual control of the inking density range was done. On the basis of the obtained results the dependences among the inking densities, range of the inking densities, dot gains and the printing substrate were found out. By controlling and measurements of these parameters it was possible to determine by special methods the optimal print which satisfied all the conditions of the qualitative reproduction which is the basic aim of the printing production. Only the controlled and systematically guided printing production can give qualitative satisfied product within the standardized conditions which enable repeatability of such process.
