Sažetak
In this paper we summarize the current position of the SME sector in Croatia, present some selected indicators of the level of entrepreneurial activity, and evaluate different components of SME policy and performance in the context of Croatia’ s progress in the European integration process. In the main part of the article we present qualitative research findings based on focus group interviews with Croatian entrepreneurs. In conclusion, we identify the main obstacles to effective policy implementation, and examine what role the europeanization of policy can play in improving the process of policy implementation in this field.
