Sažetak
In general, high performance DSP designs are heavily pipelined and, in order to reduce the pipeline cost, these designs employ techniques such as component selection and resource sharing to select the appropriate number and type of components. We present an algorithm to perform the three tasks of pipelining, resource sharing and component selection, so as to minimize design cost for a given throughput constraint. Experiments conducted on several examples demonstrate the superiority of performing all three tasks, rather than just a combination of any two of these tasks, as done in previously published algorithms.
