Sažetak
Stresses and displacements in realatively short thin-walled beams clamped at one end and subjected to bending by couples at the other, simply supported end are analysed. An approximate solution to the theory of bending under the influence of shear is compared with the finite element method, with respect to the elementary theory of bending. Simple opne thin-walled cross-sections with two axes of symmetry are considered.
