Sažetak
The most important function of vehicles of the new generation (inclouding aircrafts, high-speed ships, boats and automobiles) is to ensure a safe, comfortable and fast means of transport, these being the requirements to which the transport in the future will certainly be subject. The article describes the application of the shot-peening process on structural elements in the modern technology of vehicle manufacture and the effects of this process on fatigue strength and the design and arrangement of planking. The shot peening process will play an significant role in the future shipbuilding.
