Sažetak
Twenty-five patients with penetrating thoracal, abdominal and pelviceal injuries were evaluated by computerized tomography. The degree of damage to the parenchymal organs was analysed, the penetrating bullet or shrapnel routh was traced and the volume of free peritoneal and retroperitoneal bleeding was estimated. Computerized tomography has a primary role in defining the location and magnitude of intra abdominal injuries in stable patients, enabling the surgeon to choose the most appropriate way of handling the patient and to avoid an unnecessary operation.
