Sažetak
Language is not a system of signs, it is not merely a means of expressing and communicating thoughts and attitudes for various purposes of human communication. What is more, language is not essentially an primarily sign at all. The view of langauage as a means of communication and a sign is founde upon a basic assumption which has never been inquired into, according to which thinking is outside and beyond language. This view is countered by experience: thinking and language are most intimately conected.
