Sažetak
The present invention discloses methods for the simple, rapid, non-destructive and efficient evaluation of antioxidant activity of aqueous and non-aqueous samples. The methods are based upon the use of immobilised antioxidant indicators 1 in a matrix material 2 coated onto a substrate 3 in which the optical properties of the indicator and immobilisation matrix provide a means of sensing antioxidant activity with an optical transducer, and where additionally the substrate can act as a waveguide. The methods of the invention lend themselves to embodiment as rapid tests and sensors, and one example of an embodiment of the invention as a low-cost disposable test strip is disclosed.
