Sažetak
The paper provides a brief overview of common reluctance to action research in Croatian universities, and it focuses on the question of validity and dichotomy between research and action, theory and practice. The starting point for this article is the personal effort to encourage action research for enhancing English language teaching and learning in Croatian universities.
