Sažetak
Plant communities of the maquis Orno-Quercetum ilicis represent very poor grazing lands which become more and more unused by livestock in the Mediterranean area of southern Croatia. Establishment of the basic economic values (floristic composition, palatability and nutritive value) has been researched with the aim of changing the present situation in approaching future. Experimental techniques have established the economically most important plant species of these rangelands: they show an important feeding value and should serve as forage basis of the further applied researches and skilled interventions necessary for organization of intensive sheep - farming production.
