Sažetak
The suitability of a newly proposed system was investigated for isolation of buildings with predominant influence of shear force and predominant participation of fundamental mode in seismic response. The elements of the system are standard elastomer laminated bearings aned newly proposed elastomer-teflon bearings which are a combination of standard elastomer and standard teflon bearings with built-in possibility to limit the sliding displacement. Parametric studies were carried out on models of two typical hospital buildings and on models representing ideal shear buildings. Seimic loadings are represented by acceleration records Petrovac, Ulcinj, and Bar (Montenegro 1979).
