Sažetak
Planning an optimal well path can't be done using only geometrical calculations. In well path planning BHA behavior in various areas, torque and drag and of course geometrical parameters like inclination, azimuth and measured depth must be taken in to account. Bending moment, torque and drag can be critical factors when evaluating whether desired well path can be drilled and cased. Torque, upper bending moment and drag models take into account well path. BHA modeling is another key component of well path planning. BHA modeling should identify the response of each BHA to variations in parameters such as weight on bit, hole angle, hole diameter and geological properties. Most commonly used models are: equilibrium (constant hole curvature) and drill-ahead models. An equilibrium model is static beam model that solves for the hole curvature in which all bending moments and forces on the beam and BHA components are in equilibrium.
