Sažetak
In this paper the frequency of the primary tumours of the central nervous system in the Primorsko - Goranska county in the 1987-1996 period was studied. The primary tumours of the central nervous system were grouped according to Schoenberg's classification. The occurrence of the neoplasms according to sex and age, the percentaged distribution of different types of tumours regarding their sites, development and histopathological findings, as well as their distribution through age - specific incidence were analysed. The results of the research can be used as basis for future research in the enviromental factors of the pathogenesis of the tumours.
