Octavian's campaign against the Delmatae 35 BC had its crisis when Roman army had to put under siege the well fortified and strongly defended city of Promona. The Author proposes some new readings of the text of Appianus' Illyrike, as well as many important details concerning Roman siege technique, nature and size of Promona etc.
