Business Information Server offers a wealth of business benefits. Business Information Server is a powerful, user-driven set of Information Power tools and it has a modern graphical user interface (point and click) for control of the interactive Information Power tools. Its Report Structured Database has an interface for a specific database. It contains a powerful RAD/4GL application development language and simultaneously offers GUI unified system and database administration utilities. Moreover, it comprises a full set of security controls for systems, users and database. It offers application compatibility from desktop to enterprise server, covering Microsoft Windows and Unix to the very powerful OS 2200 operating system, scalability and performance at a variety of price points. Business Information Server allows Client/server networking across a range of systems, Internet integration and accessibility and Easy Web exchange of business information with the Unisys Internet Commerce Enabler. Business Information Server software runs on a wide variety of hardware platforms - PCs and multiple UNIX OS platforms, as well as on Unisys Enterprise Servers. This facilitates the integration of systems running different operating systems at different levels of an enterprise. Business Information Server is a new name for „ old good“ MAPPER.
