Sažetak
The paper presents and analyses the case of implementation of a knowledge management system in Pliva, a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia. Pliva’ s growth due to acquisitions of companies in Europe and the US has posed challenges to effective knowledge management, leading to the implementation of a formal knowledge management system from 2002 onwards. The project has been organised in three stages: the development of basic infrastructure, and human and organisational prerequisites for knowledge management, identification and development of critical knowledge areas and linking of internal knowledge to relevant external knowledge.
