Sažetak
Poisoning of 17 Eurasian Griffons with Carbofuran (carbamate) on 17 December 2994 on the Island of Rab is one of the biggest ecological catastrophe in the history of Croatian ornithofauna. Griffon vulture is endangered species in Croatia, and as a long-lived K-selection species, it has only one offspring, sometimes not even every year, but every second year. Than there is deffered maturity, as it needs 5 years to be mature and during that period mortylity rate is over 80%. Such a catastrophe could lead to irreversibile process of extintion of Eurasian Griffon in Croatia.
