Sažetak
Media digitalization process that is in progress in Croatia is still very chaotic, with a no legal regulation. It depends on the initiative of a few members of main regulatory bodies and a few employees of Croatian public service television – Hrvatska televizija (HTV). No law on digital broadcasting has been accepted, there is still no strategy or policy documents, no draft proposals, and no action plan for digital broadcasting switchover. Besides some debate on technical questions on DTV in Croatia, there is no public debate on the new challenges that DTV brings. As the technology is progressing very fast, implementation is preceding planning. And that is the reason for suspicion of the quality and stability of this transformation process from analogue to digital broadcasting, and also for the open possibility of manipulation, especially concerning advertising.
