Sažetak
The paper is fucused on the question how much the use of new and innovative technology might contribute to the revitalization of old, almost depleted oil and gas fields and give an opportunity to discover their hidden potential. The problem of mature fields revitalization is contemporary present round the world as well as in Croatia. The world's experience demostrates that under the conditions of long term stable high oil and gas prices the old field revitalization project risks can be lower than those of wildcat or another new discovery at unknown prospects. For mature fields a lot of existing geological, technical and other data are available, giving the chance, after their comprehensive reinterpretation and management, for implementation of the new appropriate technologies to extend the aging field production life and significantly increase, on economically feasible way, the future recovery of remained hydrocarbon reserves. The paper contains a numerous bibliography data.
