Sažetak
The author presents principal problems involved in the historical research in tourism: its notion, characteristics and significance. He highlights thematic units as most commonly issues and also proposes his classification of sources of learning about the development of tourism and its periodization. In the paper a special emphasis is placed on the present condition and future prospects of historical considerations of tourism in Croatia, which should eventually serve the future.
