Sažetak
Starting from the fact that tourism is becoming an integral part of contemporary living, the question is raised which activities in tourism affect the quality spending of free time during vacations. According to the opinion of the authors these activities are numerous: cultural, entertainment, educational, sports, nautical, health-specific and prevention-related, recreational activities, etc. The type and the quality of various activities in tourism directly affect the richness and the quality of tourism offer in a certain tourism destination. Various possibilities, based on the existing tourism resources and their comparative advantages, for the development of selective types of tourism offer in Croatian tourism are presented in this paper. Certain economic tourism-specific indicators are listed that originate from various contents and forms of tourism offer. The paper is based on research results of the authors on contents, programmes and economic effects of active rest in tourism.
