Sažetak
The northern Adriatic, particularly the Kvarner and Istria area, undoubtedly had a phase of stabilisation in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD and later a sea level rise probably of the eustatic origin. The importance of that rise over the last 2000 years, confirmed also in the other western Mediterranean regions, is about 50 cm. The regional tectonic subsidence could be the reason for the absence of a fossil and even recent tidal notch in the north Dalmatian area between Zadar and Split.
