Sažetak
Electrochemical measurement techniques (potentiodynamic polarisation, cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) were used to examine the effect of Fe (in the range from 1.25 to 1.91 wt. %) on the corrosion behaviour of the Al-Fe alloy in a 0.5 M NaCl solution. The optimum Fe content in the alloy was 1.50 %. Namely, the alloy with 1.50 % Fe exhibited the highest corrosion resistance and the lowest corrosion current density. The active dissolving of this alloy was shifted towards more positive potentials, and the corrosion resistance in the active potential region was higher as well. Moreover, subsequent thermal and mechanical treatment of the alloy was shown to increase its stability, as well as the corrosion resistance in the passive and active potential region.
