Sažetak
Body constitution is one of more important criterions in determining optimally distributed training programmes aimed to support development and maturation. In this research Sheldon s index was used in a neoclassical way, as to estimate the biological age of children. The sample of 325 seven year old boys (of the first class of elementary school) was divided into three sub-samples. Sheldon s index of constitution was used as criterion of distribution into groups, in such a way (so) that 221 boys etered in the middle group of +1/-1 standard deviation, 53 boys entered the group of +1 standard deviation and 51 of them entered the group under 1 standard deviation. Subsequently the morphological and motor structures of the groups were analysed by discering them using discriminative procedures. The results obtained within the morphological cluster of variables shown: That group marked as biologically older dominates in relation to the normally developed children in all measures. Compared to children who had a lower speed of maturation (the biologically younger) the domination of muscularity ond generally complete voluminonsity isapparent. The group of biologically youngest children in relation to those whose development was relatively stable shows a development of longitudinal bone segments but therfore a lack of muscular development. The motor cluster of variables reveals: That the biologically older are, in all motor dimensions, inferior to the middle group, and are, in relation to the biologically youngests, superior in dimensions that describe strength (repetitive strength, strength of the throwing type and endurance).
