Sažetak
Here we present the case study of toolmark characterization and tool identification by analysing the striation marks at one cut end of wire versus the striations left by the cutting tool. We use scanning electron microscope for imaging and homemade computer program for image processing and correlation analysis. Following the three steps procedure: (a) feature selection and enhancement; (b) pattern recognition; (c) confidence testing, the tool and the cutting possition at its blades, responsible for the wire cut toolmarks, was pin-pointed.
