Sažetak
In a modern society all things eventualy become waste. Amount of aste production is connected with degree of country's economic development: more developed countries produce more waste. There are different kinds of waste treatment methods and each of them has a different environmental impact and influence on human health. Land filling is still the most uswed method in most of the countries but intention are to change it with environmentally sustainable methods like recycling, composting and incineration. Croatia, as well as other countries, recognizes the problem of different waste treatment and disposal. Medical waste demands special treatment and disposal. Producers of medical waste are mostly hospitals, still not implementing existing legislative.
