Sažetak
The presentation deals with questions about the nature of relationship of personality traits and intelligence with school performance. Since their design ability tests have been widely employed to predict school performance. Typical correlations between inteliigence and school performance on different levels of education are: elementary school r=.60-.70 ; secondary school r=.50 ; undergraduate r=.40 ; postgraduate r=.30. Perhaps noncognitive variables, such as perosnality, interests, motivation start to play a relevant role in individual's progress through education system. The most consistent personality predictor of school performance is conscientiousness, probably because this concept is related to motivation.
