Sažetak
Hard vanadium carbide layer formed by diffusion process has excellent properties like very high abrasion and adhesion resistant and good tribo-chemical properties. Because of these advantages it has been used for different applications in tools and dies productions. For processing different materials which containing abrasive particles vanadium carbide layer with 3500 HV protect surface of tools or dies of abrasion. Very stabile vanadium carbide layer also protect die casting moulds from reactive fluid aluminium. Some results of application of vanadized tools and dies are presented.
