Sažetak
The work shows the development of the automatic traffic control (ATC) system in the City of Zagreb. Regarding the basic orientations and expected benefits in the field of traffic participants safety, the data on traffic accidents before and after introducing the adaptive control at one of the key intersections in the City of Zagreb have been analyzed. The collected data indicate the significant contribution and the correlation of adaptive control and safety, which makes this fact one of the most significant reasons of introducing new advanced telematic technologies.
