Sažetak
This paper is based on research of the development of shop formation, and the characteristics that these shop posses. This is followed by the pieces of information dealing with the retail trade development in the Republic of Croatia and by the comparison of some developed countries. The influence of some elements on shop formation development in the Republic of Croatia is pressented at the end.
